Charlotte Mecklenburg Police and officers from surrounding areas are kicking off the annual Bike 2 DC – Ride to Honor on Friday morning.Officers will bike 500 miles over four days to Washington DC as a tribute to fallen officers. CMPD Chief Johnny Jennings is making opening remarks before the riders leave for Washington. Officers will represent the area in the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Candlelight Vigil on Tuesday on the National Mall.
